The traditional paper industry is notoriously dirty. Not only does it contribute to deforestation, but the process of converting wood to paper is energy intensive, wastes a lot of water and uses polluting chemicals.
Stone paper is made from leftover stone from local industries that is turned into paper in a process that uses no water or chemicals and runs on solar energy. The resulting paper is as smooth and durable as a stone found at the beach. The naturally white paper has no grain direction, resulting in a silky-smooth writing experience. It is also waterproof, tear-resistant and wrinkle-free.
Finding the best bookbinder takes time, especially when they flatly refuse to use the internet or email. We eventually tracked down our hero via a friend of a friend and we’ve never been more in awe of a specific craftsman. This distinguished Polish bookbinder only uses traditional techniques, inspects every book three times before approving it, and won’t accept being rushed. We’re definitely taking a cue from him from now on.

It feels really luxurious, love the soft feeling of the stone paper, the clever little band that holds my pen, the colour is gorgeous. But the best thing is still that is has less negative impact on our environment than a normal journal
Bought as a present, my sister was very happy! Great product. Delivery good. Would recommend.
So I've been bujo-ing for a few years now, and let me tell you that a great bullet journal is a great investment. Think of it less as a high dollar amount notebook and instead as a hobby that you're doing regularly. I have used stone paper before, so I kindof knew what to expect. Stone paper is an ultra-smooth, buttery-like surface that is water and tear-resistant. I was worried that my Mildliner highlighters would smear, but they don't! They just take a *half second* longer to dry than on normal paper. The feeling of a great pen (like my Muji 0.38 gel pens) on this is unmatched, but you still feel how great it is to write on with a normal pen (so think about getting some of theirs!)
My only wish is that the GSM of the paper (the paper thickness) was a little higher, because there is some very slight ghosting. There is NO bleed through though, which I appreciate. Honestly, though, I was surprised how much the (very slight) ghosting didn't bother me, especially considering that I had just come from an A&O (160 GSM, zero ghosting) journal. I think it's because the stone paper surface really makes up for that.
It's honestly an amazing value when you start to compare how much stone paper costs. This is the only stone paper notebook I've seen, and I can't wait to see them gain popularity and get more colors and sizes!
