Eco-friendly Phone Case Made from Plants

At agood company, we offer a wide selection of sustainable, eco-friendly cases that are stylish and also help you do your part for the planet. Our Phone Cases are all made from plants, here in Sweden. Opting for 100% sustainable materials will reduce the 1 billion plastic phone cases which are sold every year, with the majority of them getting sent to landfill.

Circular Economy Phone Cases

Plastics phone cases take 500 years to decompose and during this time this plastic releases hazardous chemicals into the environment. Unlike plastic, our phone cases are 100% compostable but, even better, send it back to us when you’re done and we’ll turn it into in a new one as part of our agood Loop system. Circular economies are essential to eliminating waste as after a product reaches the end of its life it can be reprocessed into a new product, or safely returned to nature. No need to extract and produce new raw materials.

Why plastic phone cases are bad?

Plastic phone cases are becoming increasingly popular, but this trend may have serious consequences for the environment. Each year over 1 billion plastic phone cases are produced.

The production of plastic phone cases is highly resource and energy intensive, as it requires petroleum-based products to create the cases. As a result, when discarded into oceans, landfills and other areas of environmental degradation, these plastic phone cases contribute to further destruction of the planet's ecosystems.

The problem with plastic phone cases is that they are not circular or recyclable — once disposed of improperly, these cases can remain in the environment for hundreds of years. It’s estimated that around 8 million tons of plastic enter the world’s oceans every year— much of this coming from single-use plastics like cell phone cases. When in water, these plastics break down into smaller pieces known as microplastics. Not only are these microplastics incredibly difficult to clean up once in the water; they also have devastating impacts on wildlife. Seabirds often mistake them for food and eat them as a result — leading many seabird species towards extinction due to malnutrition. Additionally, microplastics can absorb harmful chemicals like DDT and PCBs — poisons that can be passed up throughout food chains when consumed by animals and eventually end up in humans who consume seafood contaminated with microplastics.

Another issue with plastic cell phone cases is that they cannot simply be melted down to form new products. This means that more raw materials must continuously be used to manufacture new plastic products — leading to a cycle of waste production and environmental degradation which will only increase if more people use plastic phone cases instead of more environmentally friendly alternatives such as bamboo or recycled materials.

In conclusion, it's important for people to realize how their seemingly small decisions about what type of cell phone case they buy can have ripple effects on our planet's ecosystems and ultimately our own well-being. Therefore it is important to choose sustainable options when buying a phone case instead of opting for a single-use throwaway option made from petroleum-based plastics: ones that help protect our wildlife rather than harm it!

How to clean a phone case?

Cleaning a phone case is easy and should be done on a regular basis to keep your phone case looking great. First, you’ll need some warm water, mild soap or dishwashing liquid, a soft cloth, and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Start by wetting the cloth with warm water and adding some soap or dishwashing liquid. Gently scrub away any dirt and grime from the plastic or plant based phone case using the cloth. Use circular motions to lift away dirt particles that may have built up over time. Pay special attention to any crevices or grooves that may have collected dirt. If there are more stubborn areas, use the soft-bristled toothbrush to get into those tight spaces.

Make sure not to scrub too hard, as it could scratch or damage your phone case. Rinse off all of the soap with clean water, then dry it off with a microfiber cloth. Finally, give it an extra shine by buffing it with some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or q-tip.

Following these steps will help keep your phone case looking good as new for years!
