Freddie Meadows: “I’m an optimist, I see that we have the capability and chances to change things around”

A Good Community sits down Freddie Meadows, a Swedish-made pro surfer and Greenpeace ambassador to chat surfing, the environment, and pushing through tough times for something you love.

As you’d imagine, Freddie emits positive vibes from the moment he enters a room. It’s hard to envision him ever being upset or angry, but he’s had his fair share of hardships and hurdles to overcome, some of his own creation, some not.

In a touching interview with our CEO, Anders Ankarlid, he discusses the challenges he’s faced over the years and his experiences of nature in all its awesome power.

“There are some big changes. This year was one of the first years I’ve experienced where a lot of the archipelago and a lot of the Baltic hasn’t frozen.”

His passion for surfing is infectious, as is his love of Sweden, which is why he chooses to battle the freezing waters of the archipelago over more forgiving climates.

As someone who is in touch with nature on a daily basis, he shares insights into things that concern him but also where he sees signs of hope and change. Good luck with the wave, Freddie!

If you have any questions or fun ideas about this (or anything really) feel free to get in touch with Emilia Cullborg, Editor and Head of Communication & Community Outreach.
