What is it?

Bamboo is actually a grass. It holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest growing plant, with some species hitting an astonishing 91cm per day. It’s known for its strength and durability and has many useful applications.

Why we like It

It is water resistant, resistant to tearing and has no grain.

  • Uses less water and land than growing trees.
  • Requires no pesticides or fertilizers.
  • Absorbs twice the amount of carbon than trees.
  • Lightweight and portable

Bamboo has a lot of applications and usages:

  • Cutlery—perfect material for making kitchen utensils, cutting boards, cups and other household items.
  • Toothbrushes—bamboo is a sustainable alternative to plastic for toothbrushes.
  • Toilet Paper—requires no bleaching agents and is naturally antibacterial.
  • NO deforestation
  • NO pesticides
  • NO acid
  • NO bleach
  • NO fertilizers
  • YES compostable

How to care for it

Bamboo is easy to wipe clean, is dishwasher friendly and naturally repels fats and water (it’s called nature’s own Teflon).

Recycling & circularity

Unlike plastic, bamboo is 100% compostable and typically breaks down within 6 months. This makes bamboo a great sustainable alternative to regular disposable cutlery, straws and toothbrushes.
