agood company Launches World’s First Climate-Positive Mobile Case

5 February, 2020

Sustainable & social impact startup agood company has launched the world’s first fully climate-positive mobile case, designed and produced in Sweden.

Addressing the climate-issue of plastic pollution, the 100% biodegradable hardcover case is made from waste linseed plants, grown by an ecologically certified farmer in Sweden. Linseed, also known as flax, is a food and fiber crop cultivated in the cooler regions of the world.

“For our phone cases, we were certain that we wanted to avoid harmful plastics so we were looking for an organic replacement. Given that a biological compound has vastly different properties than plastics, for example how it reacts to heat, it took many attempts before we got it right. But we’re immensely proud of the result.”, says Anders Ankarlid, CEO of A Good Company.

With the Paris Agreement (COP21 in December 2015) in mind, A Good Company plants one tree per sold case, contributing to actively removing excess carbon from the atmosphere. The Vegan Society Certified case, currently produced mostly iPhone case models, comes in a multitude of different water-based colors and prints and is shipped to customers using climate-positive packaging made from recycled stone.

As part of a circularity system called A Good Loop, customers are able to return their old case once it has served its purpose and swap it for a new case. Because of the natural properties of the case, they are easily turned into pellets and moulded into new cases.

“We take great care to ensure that our mobile cases are climate-positive every step of the way. From the ecologically certified local Swedish farmer to the plastic-free shipping in bulk from our warehouses. All the way to your doorstep and then back to us within the frames of our circular loop system, this product is climate-positive.”, says Anders Ankarlid.

agood company was launched in February 2019 by Anders Ankarlid, a management consultant with years of experience from e-commerce. First-hand encounters with the devastating effects of climate-change inspired him to quit the management consultancy in November 2018 and instead launch Sustainable & Social Impact startup, agood company. Sustainable everyday products produced by agood company include the Stone paper Notebook and journal, bamboo toothbrush and natural grass pen.
